Bridle Fitting
bridle fitting appointments
The horse’s head has so many nerves and bony structures close to the surface, and a badly fitting bridle can cause all sorts of pressure points and problem areas. Does your horse madly rub his head as soon as you take the bridle off? Is he tense through the poll, or sensitive behind his ears? Does he object to you doing up the noseband, or even putting the bridle on? All can be signs that something is perhaps causing discomfort and can affect your horse’s way of going when you are riding.
I can check the fit of your existing bridle, and we can go through any anatomical features particular to your horse that may cause issues for bridle fitting, such as a narrow space between the back of the ears and the wing of the atlas, or perhaps a particularly prominent facial crest. If you are looking for a new bridle I can use my demo pieces to build a custom fit bridle for your horse. You can then try riding in the bridle to make sure you and your horse are both happy with the fit.
